We do our best to update these pages regularly, but we can't guarantee that every animal shown here will be available when you visit our shelter. Also there are often animals at the shelter that have not yet been added to this site--sorry for the delay. Come on in for a visit to see the newest animals.

Spay/Neuter Policy For Smalls

Due to the over population problem with small animals, Animal Care and Control spays and neuters all rabbits, rats and neuters all guinea pigs before they go to their new homes.

Volunteers Needed

Do you love small and exotic animals? Volunteer at Animal Care and Control! We need help socializing and exercising our small furry, feathered and scaly guests. If you're over 18 and ready for a volunteer commitment, please call (415) 554-9414 and reserve a space in an upcoming Volunteer Orientation.

Fosters Needed

Do you have room in your home, life and heart to foster a needy rabbit? Save a Bunny Rescue takes numerous rabbits from ACC. They are always in need of temporary homes for rabbits - please help if you can.

Stay tuned for a bunch of great young male and female RATS about to be available! Why adopt RATS from ACC? Spay and Neuter included in the adoption fee. We have RATS! Nice, young male and female rats available for adoption. They get a lot of attention and socialization from our great volunteers. They also get spayed or neutered as part of the adoption -- so a BIG savings in pet rat care. Come and meet them all and find the rats of your dreams. There are over 15 young rats ready for adoption. Description: King Pigeons make great pets and companion birds. They are sweet, smart, calm, and full of personality. But people are not very aware of them as being pets and they have a hard time finding a home. Kings are domestic pigeons that are bred to be eaten, but they sometimes escape or are set "free".
